In 2018, Oprah loved peppermint bark, preserves, and popcorn. If you’ve got an amateur mixologist in your life, she suggests checking out the Casa Dragones tequila blanco. Or what about the health nut who wants start creating her own green elixirs? Oprah’s pick for a must-have kitchen appliance is this Hurom juicer. What about a little something for yourself? The Black and Decker hand mixer might come in handy for getting started on all those baking projects you’ve been dreaming about. And here’s one super-luxurious item that caught my eye (in case any of my friends are reading this): The Nespresso Lattissima One makes a frothy, delicious single latte.
Yes, almost all of the items on Oprah’s list are total splurges, but I’m calling it now: You deserve a little luxury in your life. Would I normally encourage anyone I care about to spend $50 on a bucket of barbecue sauce? No, I would not. But these are Oprah’s recommendations. The woman who, for years, reminded you to be kind to yourself and enjoy life. The treats on her list embody the “enjoy life” attitude. I personally can think of very little that is more decadent than a ceramic bowl of lobster mac and cheese that you can make at home, but that’s what makes it so fun. Don’t listen to that voice inside your head that says you don’t deserve to indulge — because you do.
